Hey you old Pathways friends - Be Jealous, Be Very Jealous!! I got to spend a day with Gete!For you non - Pathways people - Getenesh and I started in an Eastern University graduate program together. She's the Director of Finance for World Vision Ethiopia, and a wonderful and kind friend. We met in Toronto for four summers in a row from 2001 to 2004 and graduated in 2005. If it hadn't been for her (and several other finance pros), I'm sure I wouldn't have passed accounting! It was really fun to visit the World Vision Ethiopia office - meet her team - and have coffee Ethiopian style with the employees in their cafeteria.
Of course during lunch we couldn't help but talk about overhead issues, cost accounting, and the difficulties of compensation practices in countries with disperate costs of labor, and other fun topics
